Our Management Team

The management team of RainTree Oncology Services is comprised of respected professionals who collectively offer more than 60 years of experience that can be applied to managing the dynamic and complex issues confronting medical practices today.

Michael Martin  President and Chief Executive Officer/Founder

Michael Martin, whose industry experience spans more than 25 years, was President of International Oncology Network, a division of AmerisourceBergen, from 2005 to 2009. His prior experience exemplifies his broad healthcare expertise – having served as Chief Executive Officer of Tensys Medical, a venture-backed medical device company focused on non-invasive blood pressure monitoring systems, and as an Executive Vice President at Premier, the country’s largest hospital Group Purchasing Organization. Martin also previously held senior management positions at GE Medical Systems. Martin holds a BA degree from West Liberty State College.

Jeff Patton, MD  Chief Medical Officer/Founder

In addition to his duties with RainTree Oncology Services, Jeff Patton, MD, serves as Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board for Nashville-based Tennessee Oncology, the country’s 2nd largest community oncology practice. In addition, he is the Chairman of the Oncology Committee and Chief of Staff at Southern Hills Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee. Previously, Dr. Patton served on the Physician Advisory Board for International Oncology Network, a division of AmerisourceBergen. He currently serves on the Executive Boards of the Minnie Pearl Cancer Foundation and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Dr. Patton received a BA from the University of Virginia and an MD from the Eastern Virginia Medical School. Dr. Patton completed his residency and fellowship at the Bowman Gray School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

John Creelman  Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer/Founder

John Creelman brings RainTree more than 20 years of senior financial management experience in large enterprises as well as emerging-growth companies. His expertise encompasses corporate finance, mergers and acquisition, and operations. Creelman has served as Chief Financial Officer for numerous early stage enterprises including ID Analytics, a provider of hosted SAAS solutions for financial services and telecomm industries, and Copper Mountain Networks, a manufacturer of DSL systems. During his tenure at Copper Mountain, he managed finance and administrative functions as revenues climbed from product launch to $290 million in just three years. Additionally, he led Copper Mountain’s successful IPO in 1999. Creelman also held senior management positions at Western Digital Corporation. Creelman holds BA and MBA degrees from the University of California at Irvine.

John Dempsey  President, Pharmaceutical Services

John Dempsey joins RainTree with more than 30 years of medical industry experience. During this time, he has acquired deep industry and supply chain expertise while demonstrating strong leadership and innovation in building life science companies. Before joining RainTree, Dempsey was Vice President of the Strategic Customer Group and member of the Management Board for Johnson & Johnson’s North American Pharmaceutical Business. In prior leadership positions for Ortho Biotech, Dempsey led the company’s strategic direction to ensure the safety of the Biologic supply chain. He has worked with numerous government agencies and has testified before the Surgeon General’s Task Force on Importation. He began his pharmaceutical career as a sales representative for Eli Lilly.

Joe Harrington  Senior Vice President, Distribution Services

Joe Harrington brings to RainTree more than 30 years of experience providing executive operations management leadership. He has successfully lead operations teams in the delivery and deployment of a broad variety of services, products and technologies from program management and deployment of high-end servers and communication equipment to providing data analytics and behavior modification systems to commercial fleet management. His expertise includes program and project management, IT/IS development teams, Business Process Outsourcing, Customer Service and Quality Assurance. Harrington served as Chief Operation Officer of AquaSpy, a provider of hosted agricultural data-analytic solutions. Harrington was also Senior Vice President of Corporate Operations at Copper Mountain Networks, a manufacturer of DSL systems. During his tenure he managed project management, operation and service deployment as revenues climbed from product launch to $290 million in just three years. Harrington also held management positions at Intel Corporation.

Phillip Bradley  Senior Vice President and General Counsel

Phil Bradley brings to RainTree both his experience in private practice, which focused on representing clients in the health care and pharmaceutical industries, and prior service as General Counsel. Most recently, Bradley served as Senior Vice President and General Counsel for Duane Reade, a New York-based retail pharmacy chain, where he was a member of the management team charged with transforming the face of retail pharmacy in the United States. For most of his more than 30 years of practice Bradley was with the international law firm of McKenna Long & Aldridge, serving for many years as Chair of the Litigation Department. In addition, Bradley served as General Counsel for Gentiva Health Services, North America's largest provider of home health care services. Bradley received a BA degree from St. Andrews College and received a JD degree from the Antioch School of Law.
